What is a ‘safe word’? What would you do if a bully was picking on you? If the ice cream man asked you to come inside his ice cream truck, what would you do? What would you do if you saw a bigger kid picking on someone in the school yard? These were some of the scenarios that were discussed in the focus station during the kid’s classes this week.
How would you defend yourself against a bully in the schoolyard or in your neighborhood?
How would you defend yourself against an adult trying to grab you or force you into a car?
It is a very sad time for our society when we have to prepare are very young children to defend themselves against the bad people who are out there. But there are more and more instances where children go missing. While trying to preserve their innocence, we have to make sure our kids can protect themselves if they are ever faced with this terrifying situation.
These people who prey on your children can only be described as monsters. So during our kid’s self defense class, we make our attacker a real monster. Our ‘attack monster’ makes the kids throw their best shots in an attempt to free themselves from his grasp.
