Anna Doyle began classes with Willow after registering her daughter, Carlow, and her son, Lawrence, in the Taekwondo Beginner’s class. As she signed them up, she thought “What the heck?!?” Anna decided to join the class instead of just sitting and waiting for her kids to finish their class. Being a person who remembered Jane Fonda’s aerobics, Anna knew that coordination and balance were not her strong suits. Anna experienced a head injury and brain surgery (craniotomy) while in High School. Due to that surgery, Anna struggles at times with balance, coordination and short term memory, but has found that Tae Kwon Do and Yoga give her definite improvements in those skills. Anna achieved her 1st Don Black Belt in February 2019.
Anna loves teaching the Kid’s classes. She enjoys letting her inner pre-school teacher out to instruct and play. Anna builds up the children and challenging them to strive for more. Anna enjoys working on self-defenses, breaking, forms and balance. She is always reminding others to kihap loudly when doing self-defenses.
Anna believes that her Tae Kwon Do classes allow her a period of time to leave everything in the “outside” world behind for those precious hours of the week. Tae Kwon Do is her sanity time – the time when she can focus only on the physical and mental challenges of the sport. Tae Kwon Do helps her remember to laugh at all of the insanity in the world and let it go of her stresses with a few kihaps and kicks. Anna’s lives by the persistence motto – a Black Belt is a White Belt who never gave up.
Outside of the dojang, Anna enjoys yoga, cycling and gardening. Anna is a technology, process and organizational consultant working with entrepreneurial companies and major corporations. Anna’s husband and two of her children all participate in Tae Kwon Do. Anna’s middle daughter is an exceptional musician who participates in numerous local orchestras.
